Fifteen year old Andrea asks, "I don't turn 16 until November of next year and I was thinking about getting into the CIT program early.  Is it more likely I will be accepted if I am 17? Would the 17 year olds get priority? What do you think about getting into the CIT program early?"

Dear Andrea,
Camp is a wonderful place.  Many people come to camp to spend time with friends they have not seen in years.  I was a camper and a CIT.  I would not give up my last year as a camper to be a CIT because camp is fun and I really like the time I spent with all of my friends.   At Camp Conrad-Chinnock, the oldest campers have the opportunity to try different and creative activities that younger campers do not.

The life of a CIT is nothing like that of a camper. You are there to do a job; many campers that have become CITs realize that it is not the same as when they were campers. Both programs are great. The camping and CIT programs are one of the best in the country.   If I had to pick one option, I would want to have my last year as a camper.
