Jeff, who is 12 years old, asks, "Can you drop the price for camp?"

Dear Jeff,
No one is turned away from camp for financial reasons!  For one week at Camp Conrad-Chinnock during a youth session, the cost is $435 (only pay $425 if registering online).  The fee is only about 1/2 of the actual cost of sending a child to camp.  The fee includes all activities, meals, snacks, transportation, medical supplies (except for prescription medicine and insulin pump supplies), and fun!

Fortunately, camp receives  financial support from the Los Angeles Times Camper Fund, Jewish Community Foundation, Weingart Foundation, and United Way.  Additionally, numerous insulin, blood testing, and medical supplies are donated.

Financial assistance and payment plans are provided to enable every youth the opportunity to experience camp.  If you need to raise money to go to camp, contact your neighbors, house of worship, physician (who may be able to request financial assistance from a diabetes medical supply representative), or diabetes support groups.   Camp provides the opportunity to learn how to better live diabetes while experiencing mountain biking, dances, hiking expeditions, group games, crafts, campfires, and other great activities.
